Delete your account

You can delete your Aangan account at any time, from inside the app. No request form, no waiting on us.

How to delete it

1. Open the Aangan app.
2. Go to Settings (bottom navigation).
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
4. Confirm twice — the second confirmation is final.

Deletion happens immediately. You are signed out, and you can no longer sign in with that account.

What is deleted

Your personal data is erased across every community you belong to:

• Your name, email address, phone number and profile photo
• Your profile — headline, bio, occupation, interests, skills and languages
• Your direct messages and your conversations with Mitra
• Your habits, step history and interest profiles
• Your entries in challenge walls
• Your notification tokens (no further notifications are sent)
• Your activity history used for recommendations

What is kept, and why

Some records belong to your community rather than to you, and your society needs them for its own accounts and governance. These are kept, with your name replaced by “Former resident”:

• Invoices, bills, payments and other financial records
• Votes already cast in polls and elections (kept anonymous, so results stay correct)
• Notices, tickets and comments you posted for the community

These records no longer identify you: they carry no name, email, phone number or profile.

If you cannot access the app, email aanganappsupport@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
